There’s something magical about St. Patrick’s Day in Kiltimagh—and 2025 was no exception. With this year’s touching theme, “Home is Where the Heart Is,” the town came together to celebrate not just Irish culture, but the deep sense of belonging, pride, and togetherness that defines our community.

Led by a Familiar Face

Leading the parade was Grand Marshall Henry Kelly, representing the Kiltimagh Tidy Town Committee. A respected and dedicated figure in the community, Henry’s role was a fitting tribute to the people who work year-round to keep Kiltimagh beautiful, welcoming, and—yes—feeling like home.

A Day of Colour, Craic, and Community

The streets of Kiltimagh were buzzing with excitement as families, friends, and visitors lined the parade route. The floats were as imaginative as ever—some heartfelt, others hilarious, but all bursting with community spirit. From reflections on Irish emigration to depictions of rural life and family, the theme “Home is Where the Heart Is” was interpreted in beautiful and creative ways by all who took part.

🏆 Parade 2025 – And the Winners Are…

The competition was strong, but a few entries rose to the top with their creativity, message, and performance:

• 🥇 Overall Winner: St. Louis Community School
  A powerful float envisioning Ireland’s future—rooted in tradition, but looking forward with optimism and unity.

• 🥈 2nd Place: Foróige Kiltimagh – “Letters to Home”
  A moving portrayal of emigration, connection, and the love that endures across distance and time.

• 🥉 3rd Place: Walsh Timber Flooring – “Disorder in the Dáil”
  Hilarious, sharp, and brilliantly executed—this float had the crowd in stitches with its satirical spin on Irish politics.

• 🎖 Mary Diamond Memorial Trophy: St. Aidan’s National School
  Bursting with color, enthusiasm, and creativity, the school’s float captured the hearts of all who watched.

A True Celebration of Heart and Home

More than just a parade, this year’s event was a love letter to what makes Kiltimagh special: its people. From the volunteers and organizers to the performers and cheering crowds, the day was filled with joy, laughter, and a shared pride in our community.
