The Raftery Returns Arts Festival in Kiltimagh , County Mayo…
due to take place from 26th September to 3rd October, 2021 has been postponed until March 2022.
RAFTERY RETURNS POETRY COMPETITION SHORTLIST:
Despite all the restrictions and difficulties, we were delighted with the huge number of entries for this competition. We have postponed the festival, proper, until next March but the competition has gone ahead and it is our pleasure to congratulate the shortlist:
– Daragh Byrne – As it is in Heaven
– Art O’Suilleabhan – No Going back
– John McGrath – Leaving (July 1st 1966)
The winner will be announced and the prizes presented by the competition judge, Ger Reidy, on Friday October 1st in The Cill Aodain Hotel, Kiltimagh. The event begins at 7pm. We look forward to hearing the winning poems being read as well listening to an exciting evening of poetry, song and story. All are welcome with or without a bundle of poems.
The festival is being supported by the NPA Spot-Lit Project.
