Kiltimagh truly outdid itself this St. Patrick’s Day as the streets came alive with colour, creativity, and community spirit for the 2026 parade. Despite the typical Irish weather making an appearance, it did nothing to dampen the energy, pride, and enthusiasm that filled the town from start to finish.
This year’s theme, “Heroes and Legends,” inspired an incredible turnout of floats, each one telling its own story — from mythical Irish legends to modern-day heroes in our communities. The imagination, effort, and teamwork on display were nothing short of outstanding.
A Celebration of Community Spirit
What makes Kiltimagh’s parade so special isn’t just the floats — it’s the people behind them. Local groups, schools, and organisations came together once again, putting in weeks of preparation to create something memorable for the entire community.
From vibrant displays like the Darkness Into Light float, highlighting the importance of mental health awareness, to beautifully crafted tributes honouring loved ones and Irish legends, the parade captured both joy and reflection in equal measure.
There were powerful and emotional moments too — including a deeply respectful tribute from Kiltimagh Fire Brigade, marking the 25th anniversary of 9/11 and honouring the firefighters who lost their lives. It was a poignant reminder of the courage and sacrifice shown by emergency services both at home and across the world.
And of course, no parade would be complete without a bit of fun — with Spider-Man stealing the spotlight and taking up the best seat in the house atop the viewing stand, much to the delight of the crowd.

Parade Winners 2026
The standard this year was incredibly high, making the judges’ job no easy task. After much deliberation, the winners were announced:
🥇 1st Prize: Kiltimagh Scouts
🥈 2nd Prize: Kiltimagh Fire Brigade
🥉 3rd Prize: St. Louis Community School
Each of these groups brought the “Heroes and Legends” theme to life in a unique and memorable way, impressing both judges and spectators alike.
Mary Diamond Memorial Trophy – U12 Category
A special highlight of the day was the Mary Diamond Memorial Trophy, celebrating the creativity and effort of our younger participants.
🏆 Winner (as selected by the judges): St. Aidan’s National School
We also want to acknowledge the fantastic effort from all participating schools, with some incredibly creative and detailed entries on display — including Bohola National School, whose float was a standout on the day.
As always, the standard was exceptionally high, and we look forward to continuing to encourage themed float participation in this category in the years ahead.
Thank You to Everyone Involved
A sincere thank you to every group, volunteer, sponsor and spectator who made this year’s parade such a success.
We would also like to thank our judges, who had the difficult task of choosing winners from such a high standard of entries across all categories.
From the creativity of the floats to the energy of the performers and the support lining the streets despite the rain — every contribution played a part in making the day so special.
To everyone who took part, helped organise, or simply came out to support — you are what makes the Kiltimagh St. Patrick’s Day Parade so special.
Looking Ahead
If 2026 is anything to go by, the future of the Kiltimagh St. Patrick’s Day Parade is brighter than ever.
We’re already looking forward to making 2027 even bigger and better.
