Christmas has Come to Kiltimagh

Christmas in Kiltimagh

11th December 2022

Christmas has arrived in Kiltimagh yesterday with the turning on of the Christmas lights preceded by the Christmas Market in the Market Square where Christmas shopping was in full swing with some nice treats enjoyed by all. There was a great variety of stalls and Kiltimagh Tourism would like to thank all those who brought a stall to Kiltimagh.

Rascals Play Centre had a very special guest who was taking orders for Christmas and I hear there were some small gifts going to those that have been very good this year.

Thanks to Cill Aodain Choral Society and Fr Michael Quinn for the blessing of the crib and the fabulous singing which got everyone in the Christmas spirit.

The big event of the evening was the switching on of the lights and the Christmas features look lovely. Well done to all involved in the Christmas Light Committee. They look fabulous. Congrats to Henry Kelly who was selected to switch on the lights this year as a recognition of all the voluntary work he does as part of the Tidy Towns team every weekend keeping our streets clean.

A big hit as always was the Christmas tractor run and it did not disappoint. Well done to everyone who decorated their tractors. Everyone was impressed especially all the boys and girls. This was run in aid of Down Syndrome Mayo and all donations are welcome.

Finally thank you to everyone who came along to Kiltimagh today. Hope you all enjoyed yourselves.

Happy Christmas
