The Cill Aodain Musical Society was formed in Kiltimagh in November 1994. There had previously been a musical society in the town from 1979 to 1988. The newly formed society joined A.I.M.S. and started rehearsals for The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. In 1998, the Cill Aodain Musical Society took a break from stage productions and concentrated on choral work. Choral work proved to be popular and successful with all the members and the name of the society changed to the Cill Aodain Choral Society.

Since its formation, the Choral Society has grown in members and experience. It has received numerous awards at choral competitions, performed with artists such as Sean Keane, Rebecca Storm and Tommy Fleming and staged several successful shows. Under the musical direction of Finola Higgins–Cosgrove, the choir have explored a wide variety of musical genres ranging from musical theatre to gospel, traditional Irish to light opera. With over 50 singing members, the choir rehearse every Tuesday night in the Kiltimagh Community Centre. Membership is by audition.
